Moldova Travel Overview

Moldova was badly badly damaged during World War II. Two thirds of the larger cities were destroyed. In Stalinist times most of it was rebuild; but of course in Stalinist style.

Moldova is one of the poorest countries of Europe - the GDP per capita is not higher than that of some AFrican countries. Bordering on Romania and the Ukraine it is close to the Black Sea but is still landlocked.
